Forbes List: India does it again

After billionaires and household names like Ambanis and Mittals, it is the turn of little-known microfinance institutions from India to hit the pages of famed magazine Forbes, which has named seven such entities in the list of world's top 50 -- highest for a country. In its first ever list of World's Top 50 Microfinance Institutions, the US business magazine has named Kolkata, West Bengal-based Bandhan at the second position.

Dear Sir/Madam

This is in reference to your edition of 30th December 2007 which has coverage on India topping Forbes list of top microfinance institutions. The coverage mentions Bandhan as a Bangalore based microfinance institution. We are in fact a Kolkata based microfinance institution. Pls. note that we have no existence in Bangalore at all. We are working in six states of India with our headquarter based at Kolkata, West Bengal.
We regret this as a huge setback as it has led to a lot of confusions and questions. We have been receiving a lot of phone calls following your publication. We would request you to kindly look into this matter at your earliest. We would highly appreciate if some sort of rectification can be done on this front. Should you have more questions, please feel free to contact us at +91-33 -2334-7602/4613/3015 . Our email id is bandhanindia@gmail.com, info@bandhanmf.com.
Look forward for a prompt reply.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
